Master creamy perfection! Sear chicken to golden, then craft a decadent garlic-infused Parmesan cream sauce. This elegant dish ensures tender results. Full recipe & nutrition facts await.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 68 oz each)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Season chicken breasts all over with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Step 2: Reduce heat to medium, add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Bring to a simmer, then stir in the heavy cream.
  4. Step 4: Bring the cream mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it is fully melted and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 2-3 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  5. Step 5: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the creamy sauce. Spoon the sauce over the chicken and let it simmer gently for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and heat the chicken through. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store any leftover Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Breast in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days; the sauce might thicken further upon cooling.
  • For best results, gently reheat leftovers on the stovetop over low heat, adding a splash of chicken broth or milk to loosen the sauce and restore its creamy texture without it separating.
  • This decadent dish shines alongside a simple green salad to cut through its richness, or for a heartier meal, serve it over a bed of al dente pasta, fluffy rice, or creamy mashed potatoes to soak up all that delicious sauce.
  • To truly maximize flavor, ensure you thoroughly scrape up all those delicious browned bits (fond) from the bottom of the pan after cooking the chicken; these are little flavor bombs that will make your sauce incredibly rich.
